Horizontally offset the edge of a morph or object

We often get site design from surveyors in the form of 3D tins (from 12D, imported as GDL objects). I often need to use the edge of the 3D shape for various things.

In this example I am trying to model a 1.8m fence around each section in a subdivision that follows the topography of the site. I've drawn the fences as walls, made then 50m tall and then used a copy of the 3D tin (raised 1.8m) to trim the walls. Its worked for all the walls that are clearly inside the boundaries of the site but a lot of the edges failed to trim. This seems to be because the 3D tin falls just short of the boundary in some places. What I want to do is offset the perimeter of the 3D tin horizontally outwards by 1m so it clearly covers all of the walls and trims them correctly. I know its a bit of a lomg shot but if anyone knows how to do this or has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Did you convert it into a Morph?

Because if you did, then all you need to do is either directly select that edge ( Control+Shift on Windows, until the cursor arrow turns white from black) and then pull it or move it wherever you want via the pet palette move button (#2 in the image below).

Alternatively rather than actively moving it and depending on the rest of the geometry, you can directly Extrude it using the extrude edge option on the pet palette (#1 on the image below).
But with this option you have to be aware that it will only extrude perpendicularly as constrained from the adjacent or connection edges or vertices - meaning, you may not be able to extrude it how you want in a direction you want.

You might want to test both methods and see which works for you.

Extrude edge worked like a charm. Thanks Bricklyne!
No problem, and glad to be of help.
