What version of AC are you using ?

Are you trying to change the 2D symbol of an Archicad object ?

If so, which object ? The exact name please.

In what way do you want to change the 2D symbol ?

If all you need is custom 2D trees you can draw them with the 2D tools. To reuse these you can group and copy or save as library parts. If you want to change the rendered appearance of 3D trees this is not so easy (really very difficult) and not for someone new to the program. What you should do depends on what you want to accomplish.
