How to correctly represent a beam in the different stories?

I wonder how can I have a trellis to show with dashed lines in the first floor and in solid lines in the second floor.

I already placed the beams in the second floor and configured them to show in current floor + 1 story down and vice versa, placed them in the first floor and had them to show in current floor + 1 story up but either they show dashed or solid in both floors (depending in the FLOOR PLAN DISPLAY configuration).

Any idea how to do this?

You can have the beams show up dashed on the first floor plan and solid on the second floor plan using Show Projection setting and Overhead Line pen and Uncut Line pen.

Ok. Thank you very much.

At a first moment it wasn't working, the beams where showing projected in the first floor and despaired in the 2nd floor (my second floor starts at 10'-0" and the top of the beams are @ 10'-0" also), but then I elevated the beam by 1 /64" and then showed up in the 2nd floor as well, thank you so much
you can change the height the projection is taken also so you do not have to evlevate the beams in to the cut range.
