Sorry if this has been covered. I searched, but to be honest I had trouble coming up w/ reasonable key words...

Oh, I could and have placed the image in as a material for color rendering, but I need to be able to use these in hidden line drawings. We use a lot of HL drawings during the SD phase....

I once had to do the very same thing and used Adobe Streamline and Illustrator to export the drawing as DXF. Today Illustrator can trace the drawing and export as DWG but of course who wants to buy Illustrator to convert one drawing?
Maybe your local graphic artist could do the trace and conversion to DWG for you for a small fee?
Or maybe the client could put you in contact with their graphic artist who could do the same?
