Listing and Labeling ID

In the object settings dialog box under Listing and Labeling, is it possible to set the ID so it does not change with the placement of each object? Maybe I am misunderstanding it's use. I am trying to place all simillar walls and have the same ID designation for all of them without having to go back and change the ID before or after the object is placed. Is this what I should be doing in terms of creating schedules later on?

Thanks,

Jason

The other way to keep prevent the auto-increment is for the ID to be non-numeric (i.e. don't end with numerals). An ID of D101 will increment whereas 101D will not.

...and don't forget, when you DO have to change the ID of multiple elements, that the Element ID Manager (EIDM) in the Calculate Menu makes this an easy task (usually).
