Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Archicad?

Can anyone from G_soft say anything assuring about AC11 working under the about-to-be-released Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

Well, it's baaaack...

It seems I've been working too long (again) today and I'm getting the broken glass once more. It started in ArchiCAD (or that's where I noticed because it was what I was using at the time) but is also occurring in other programs.

A curious effect in the 3D window was lots of lines emanating from the project origin. Clearly this isn't merely a display anomaly but seems to bleed into the OpenGL geometry as well.

This is 100% consistent with my experience. Very unnerving. I agree that it seems to happen when the machine is hot. A restart cured it for me (I've only seen it once). Interesting that we have only seen it starting with AC (and only in the 3D window) an then it spreading to other apps.

I've been having that broken glass thing as well when using leopard.

Now I've downgraded back to tiger and I get 3D window blinking in AC11 when using openGL.

Has anyone else been having this blinking with tiger or is my MBP videocard just broken? This blinking doesn't occur when using the same project on different mac.

12/3/2007 - IMPORTANT! Mac OS 10.5 - Leopard and Power PC
We would like to advise that the current Cadimage Tools do not work with the new Leopard operating system on Power PC based Macs.

We are working on a solution for the ArchiCAD 11 versions of our tools and will update you once we have progressed with this.

Actually, I can't get 3D Profiler to work on my intel machine either.....

Is it just me or do others think that a %$#& library part SHOULD NOT be able to crash the whole darn CAD app?

I've seen people using Leopard with AC11 with success but haven't seen anything on using it with AC10. Is anyone using it with AC10? I'm not going to upgrade to AC11 with 12 just around the corner.

I have been running AC 10 on Leopard for several days
on a brand new iMac with no detectable problem so far.

If it's not recommended for 11, I would expect that 10 would be a bit problematic?

I don't run 10 heavily, but I use it for library maintenance and I have it open, at least, most of the time. The only oddity I've noticed is an unwillingness of the app to hide. I can only speak for myself; I don't intend to put the office on leopard until GS says OK.

I would think the wibu warnings would apply to 10 the same as 11.

10 will need to be officially Leopard-OK at some point, since we will continue to need it to open very old work. It will be interesting to see how GS handles that, since they seem to consider previous versions closed cases.

I've used all versions from AC7 to AC11 with Leopard and not had problems, but that wasn't by any means an exhaustive test. Apparently the WIBU key server doesn't work in Leopard, but that won't affect you unless you're using a network license. It isn't really unusual for the WIBU stuff to break - they're doing some fairly tricky things with the OS.

Otherwise, so far so good.
