Magic wand for hexagon: Another silly question

OK. I have done it before, but not for some time. I want to use the magic wand to make a hexagon. Simple. Quick. NOT. I go into Options> Magic Wand Settings And set it to make six segments along circles with best match. Then, I use the magic wand and it makes a new circle using very many segments. what am I doing wrong? Any help?

Never mind. Not best match, rather linear segments. Thanks Anyway.

Seems like the special snap points have to be set to the same number of divisions as the magic wand settings. Do you really have to set this up in two separate places?

I've found it faster to just grab a polygon object from the library and explode it.
