Hi. I need to model a bent column and something that looks like a spiral. I have no idea what tool to use ( i need a column with round section ).
XP, AC11 - no add-ons

Check in your Object library under Special Construction -> Basic Shapes.

Not sure if you want to exclude the use of add-ons from your search, but this is easy to do with OBJECTiVE. In the attached image, you can:
  • 1) Place a curved profile in section at whatever start/end position you require
    2) Use the Bend tool to bend it to the curve
    3) The finished curved (round) beam
The same object can also have one end offset to it also rises around the curve, enabling a spiral to be easily constructed (see 4). All the parameters, e.g. radius of the curve, diameter of the profile, rise, etc can all be accurately specified.
