Navigator folders have dissapeared?

Folders in my navigator have dissapeared and have been replaced with the folder that the project is saved in. There are no other folders to open - ground plans etc have all gone and I cannot generate a 3d visualisation. I have NO idea why. Does anyone have any sggestions?

I am not sure I understand this, but it sounds to me that you have switch to view map, layout book or publisher in the upper part of navigator. Is that the case?
