Navigator window auto-close feature – gone in AC11?

In prior releases, the Navigator window used to auto-close once the view you select opens (assuming you had the 'stick pin' toggled to the auto close position).

There is no longer a stick-pin icon. Is that feature gone now? Do you have to manually close the Navigator window every single time?

My navigator has decided to auto-close.

I checked that the option is not selected in the pull-down menu. Nevertheless I keep having to press F1 to bring it back.

Any clues, anyone?
