North America ArchiCAD support policy

Dear AC-Talkers of USA and Canada,

We have documented our technical support policy in a one-page PDF document that you can download from our website. The reason we did this is that we want to make it clear where our priorities lie. Graphisoft is investing in improving the support activities in North America. So far this year we have started technical webinars that touch on popular topics concerning ArchiCAD. (Check out our menu on the site) We are also looking into ways of improving the overall customer experience. At the same time we felt it is necessary to review our practices and document what you can expect from us.

Your kidding right? My understanding from that Policy is that there is no support after 12 months of buying a license or upgrade. Unless on a Subscription.

Just trying another incentive for users to get on the subscription bandwagon for unseen future versions that have a record of not delivering.

Off course the subscription fee in the US is half what the rest of the world pays. So outside the US, subscriptions have even less value to solo practioners with GS record in recent years.

I simply think that any proactive steps by GS are steps in the right direction. If they're trying to hold on to their most lucrative revenue stream, that's not unusual.

In an ideal world, the cost of AC (standalone or subscription) would always be linked to buying power in the countries that it is sold.

And I'm a solo practitioner too BTW.

OT: In the real world the rich and powerful get stuff free and the poor while weak pay a premium.
