Painting as a composite layer

Hi,

In my workflow, i always use building materials for thick elements inside composite,

for painting, i use surface override OR i keep the original surface of the outer skin of the composite,

when i schedule surfaces, it takes long time, also, surfaces does not have IDs, or properties so i can add data when i want,

i have the idea to add painting into composite walls as a building material , does it make sens ?

did someone have issues using this method ?

Thanks

I haven’t check so not sure but do the interior accessories available through the Goodies add-on allow for scheduling? If they do you could use these to create your inner wall painted finish and apply it as a skim coat (3-6mm) on the wall. You could place the wall accessories on a separate layer so you can control which plans these appear on. If they are able to have properties applied you should then be able to schedule them and label them.

I’ve used the interior accessory that way and it works well.

if you move doors or windows after applying the wall surface you need to update
