Placing a Beam Out of Plane

How do you place a beam on a 45 degree angle against a vertical column to form a bracing element and then another at 135 degrees to intersect and then another beam parallel to the base surface

When you open the Beam settings dialog (Cmd+T) then there right next to the Home Story drop down menu you can select if your beam is horizontal or at an angle. Next to it you can enter the needed angle as well.
