Attempting to replicate what's shown in the top photo. I've drawn a low wall and made it sloped by using a roof plane. I want to extrude a profile along the top but gathered that it's not possible using the beam tool. Downloaded the Profiler add-on but that's not helping me either because everything has to be drawn in plan so even if I could rotate it to be sloped easily, it would be misaligned.
What's the correct way to do this?

You can also do a complex profile for railings, change the top or handrail to a profiled rail. hope it helps you. 😎

Magic wand settings
Achieved it in the end, with some imperfections. Profiled railing was the technique used. I extended the wall up a little bit higher to compensate for the weird gap. Not sure why the angle ended up different, the stairs and cut plane have their gradient matched. An important thing in the end was to update my magic wand settings from some previous modelling when I was making an octagon shape. I've shown my settings used when applying the railing. Don't know what to do about the twist at the end. Gotta say, this would've taken me two minutes to model in Rhino.

You cannot do curved sloping Beams. I would be tempted to do the SEO and the capping as a Railing Profile. Alternatively, you could do an extruded Morph.

The main issue with that is that the bottom slopes too. I have used a SEO on the bottom of a railing though.

I guess you can just cheat that part by over extending the profile then SEO the excess part.
