Problem after importing 3ds

Hi.. I have a problem with Archicad 3d view after i import a 3ds max and insert it in as an object.. I cannot zoom in nor rotate the view ... so the perspective is stuck, and also the isometric view .. The 3ds object was made in 3ds max. Anyone knows something about this ?

The only things I can think of is either the part is hugely complex or fatally flawed.

I have imported lots of 3ds parts with little trouble. Though there was one crawler crane that really slowed things down until I simplified it substantially.
