Railing tool post display funny business

Bruce
Advisor
I have encountered what I am pretty sure is a bug in the railing tool...but I could just be missing a setting. Steps followed:

1. Create a straight static railing with 4 nodes, including the end nodes.
2. Change one end node vertically.
3. The post next to the 'bent' node will disappear.

See series of screenshots below.

That's great.
Thanks for letting us know.

Hopefully soon there will be a library update as well that will affect stairs and railings.
The INT library has been released - just waiting for all the other language versions.
Also there will be an Archicad update soon (5002 which is in preview for some languages - not NZ sorry).
So keep an eye on the "Check for updates" in the Help menu or make sure the check for updates is turned on in the Work Environment and Archicad will automatically check and will notify you when they are available.

I'm going to have to roll back my update anyway, and the vertical curved connections have disappeared. Changing the radius values has no effect, and remodelling the handrail doesn't work.

I can see it is going to take a while to get all these new stair and railing problems sorted.
Hopefully the problems will be sorted and it won't just be left as near enough is good enough (I get in trouble whenever I mention 80% ).

Be sure to try and report any problems to you local distributor as well as mentioning them here.

The problem seems to be related with an incorrect testing of vertical radius to proximity of connected nodes. If I shift the node where the vertical bend happens away from the corner node far enough, the connections reappear.

Problem is, geometrically it should work (and did in the previous build). Oh well.

Have fixed the problem of connection radii not updating - there is a Reset Custom Nodes button under the Node section (see image). However, the issue that caused this problem in the first place still persists (not allowing close enough nodes from corners to vertical bends).

Forgot to mention it was Cadimage support that pointed out the previous fix.

The image below (section through handrail) refers to what I'm talking about. I know this can work, because it was working on the previous build.

I should probably say that, despite these issues, I still think the new tool is amazing. A lot of thought has gone into it, and the result is excellent.
