Hi all!

¿Anybody knows anything about AC 12, please?

I'm hearing rumours, but nothing concrete...

Thanks a lot and regards.

P.S. Like another user says: "forgive my spanglish..."

Isn't possible that… what?

That Archicad would produce something new that Revit users would envy?

or what?

Your turn.

Yes, my turn.

I don't mind if the revit users are green of envy or not. I only want to make the most of AC. ¿With a new version? Yes.

Or: Do we expect Autodesk's Revit tell us what we need to do and where we go?

I remember that Graphisoft has spent years using BIM to know what chances has this way of working... ¿Or not?

Kind regards.

Dwight, I'm absolutely fed up with you spreading all these lies and dis-information...

I heard it's the August edition of PlayCAD actually!!!

If you're interested in possible features in AC12, don't forget the legendary press release that managed to confuse more than inform - here

(Discussed here.)

Something to do with semantic webs, OWLS, SWOPS, GARMS, SPLODGES, TWONGLES, POGS, FLOPS, SNOGS and FLOBITS* or something.

(*I made the last 6 up, btw )

I've also heard something about 'stairs' and 'elevations' being enhanced too, but to what extent, who knows?

And while we are discussing fantasy features, as I was chatting to the main man Dominic Gallello whilst giving me a lift in his Graphisoft branded biplane he personally uses to spread the word of ArchiCAD around the world, he exclusively told me they were implementing technology that allowed you to print full size 3D models directly from your standard printer without any extra attachments.

Which could be useful, I thought.

And if you want another absurd fantasy...
¿Why "absurd fantasy"? ¿Isn't possible?
Not absurd. Not only possible...

It's called the marquee tool or...

Find & Select or...

Pet Palette or...

Info Box or...

3D snaps, constraints, etc.

Of course there are many more but not necessarily all drool worthy.

Have another on me.

The only reason why the above might be a problem is marketing - as traditionally Graphisoft does not recognize a need for any.

And, I would REALLY like that Graphisoft stops looking at Revit and remembers that they have a software to make. The same one that Revit copied to incredible lengths, including the brochure, when it was being born. Bashing Architectural Desktop notwithstanding.

We don't need two flavours of the same unfinished bull*s*h*i*t but two distinct packages based on the same philosophy. Why? Because 90% of the world is awed whatever they see - Archicad or Revit - as they can't think further than a stack (roll, folder) of drawings and drafting them. Heck, quite a few people here can't - sorry, guys, the truth hurts. I am a moron that wants impossible, yes I know, it also hurts.

I still have to wait and see anything Autodesk working with anything else Autodesk smoothly - as they don't develop, they buy development. And coordination is not their strongest point.

So, basically ... enjoy what you use, and use it well. If you are forced to use A or R, learn how to use it. Changing the software won't teach you how to use it properly.

May the VB be with us ...

... or BIM, as you like it.

I heard it was only going to be a 3D hologram, projected onto the building site. 3D printing will not be implemented until V16
