Revision/Issue handling in Plotmaker

I am just curious how you guys handle revisions and issues of each layout. Here is the thing: let's say we have a set of 5 drawings (layouts) issued as 'issue-A'. Now 3 of them have got superseded over the period of time and we had to reissue them as new 'issue-B' BUT the rest is still unchanged ('issue-A'). So we have a mix of issues within one set. It means (with current PM structure) that we have to change the issue manually for each layout by using old technique of PM2.x. It is extremely annoying as well as dangerous (mix-up in issues would cause mayhem in current documentation) when you have to manually rewrite 20-30 layouts. Advantages of this system are possibility of tracking down all changes etc... Secondly it is very common practice of documentation handling in Australia. I can not see the way out of it but implementing AutoText feature/parameters which are directly tied to and UNIQUE for each particular layout. It could be a parameter next to name of layout in PM navigator (that would be actually perfect), so one could see the issue value per each layout in the navigator tree structure!

Please GS make my life happier….

I just issue the updated drawings. If the older drawings are updated later then they automatically have the updated issue number. By this method the issue number keeps going up and it is possible for a drawing to "skip" a revision number, but i dont see that as a problem so long as transmittals are issued and PDF copies of all drawings are kept.

It has been a wish that Plotmaker lists a revision number in the navigator as part of the drawing name and number lisy
