recently used the roof design module, specific to creating only rafters and wondering what controls the association to the roof. meaning, after creation the rafters are all individual elements and thought it would be a single object as shown in this tutorial.

They are individual elements, so you can adjust each separately if you need to.

But if you turn grouping on, then you will find they all belong to one group and can be selected together.
