Roof light opening in roof accessory library part

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello again!

Putting a roof light into a roof that has had a roof accessory added in the form of spanish tiles, it seems the only solution is to SOE the roof accessory library part with the window to get an opening

Is this the case? seems a bit naff...

Also is there a link somewhere to latest Velux products as GDL objects?

many thanks

Paul

Cutting a hole in the roof should cut a hole in the roof accessory (if it is scripted properly).
Adding a roof light (sky light) may cut its own hole in the roof but it may not be the same as physically cutting the hole yourself.
I can't say for sure as I haven't played with the roof accessory.

I would have thought it would work though as long as you are placing the roof light with the roof light tool.
I know the wall accessories are cut when you add a door or window.
I assume the same would apply for the roof light.

Another option may be in the parameters of the roof accessory.
Is there an option to show/hide holes?

Barry.

Hi,

You can get a nice roof accessory with many roof tile types that doesn't need SEO for roof light here: http://www.eptar.hu/programs/Mediterran_installer_AC14.exe

it's in Hungarian, but it has a nice video tutorial too: http://www.eptar.hu/eptar_video_ep14.php

There are a lot of other free accessories and Add-ons too on that site

Hi Ede,
It's a very good roof accessory, but there is a BIG problem: it's in hungarian and it's very hard (for me is impossible) to understand all the terms. In these conditions I will not handle it at all.
It would be very helpful if Graphisoft would translate in english, and upload in Add-on section, like the other add-ons (mesh to roof, etc.)

Is this a Graphisoft library part?
If so I agree that It should be in English otherwise almost impossible to use such an important library object

The Hungarian website looks interesting but again I couldnt use it because of the language, which is a shame.

The website does indeed look promising. They have what appears to be powerful add-ons and objects from manufacturer's including Velux.

This is not a Graphisoft website though, it is Eptar. Perhaps we should all send Eptar an e-mail stating they should make an English translation of their products for wider use. It would only benefit them.

You can get a better idea of what is on the site by using Google's translator http://translate.google.com The translation is not perfect but it helps to get some of the language across.

You can send Eptar an e-mail here: info@eptar.hu

I have already sent them a message to create english translations of their tool and objects. Maybe if they hear from more of us then they might take action.
