Roof

I've just started to used archiCAD 9, and I need help in drawing a roof.
I've tried to do it in 3D, but it's not working well for me. I just don't get how to create a roof. Can someone please explain it to me?

Learning to make roofs in the 3D window is the hard way.
To start, make you roofs in the 2D window until you get more familiar
with the program. After that, read the reference manual
about making roofs in the 3D window.
