Secondary dimensions not working in Section/Elevation window

I have discovered that secondary dimensions don't seem to be working in Section/Elevation windows. (They work fine in plan view.) Well, this isn't good. Does anybody recall if they ever did? Or is this the way it's always been?

Have not needed them until recently, and found the same thing ... why is beyound me.

Seems like it has never worked.
