Selective Viewing in 3d

I used to be able in AC9 to select an object in the plan view and see only that object in the 3d window. Now I see everything, with or without selection or using the marqee tool.

I know the setting is somewhere, but after much looking I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,

Right click to select the object or what is in the marquee for viewing.

I tried the marquee and all objects still show in 3d. Under View/Elements in 3d View there is a "Show Selection/Marquee in 3d" command, but that still doesn't do the trick.

I'm sure it is an easy thing that I am missing.

Thanks again,

Don

What version?

Things are different in 10.
Check out the documentation.

F4 and F3 and Command-F3 and Command-F4 all engage or disengage a variety of view methods, and also restore views. I found it frustrating at first.
