Show Area Text errors

I have a space that is 31'-7" x 29'-3"
When I do a fill to get the area the result shows 87.99 sf. Anybody have an idea what's wrong here? It is not just a matter of incorrect decimal place.

It would seem that you need to change your units to metric and then back to feet.
