Show Builidng Outline

Hi,

I am new to ArchiCAD and I'm sure my questions seem very simple but please help.

I have my building modeled and I have it sat in the correct position on a site plan but I want to create a drawing which just shows the outline of the new building. Is this possible?

Many Thanks

A solution is to have just the exterior walls showing assuming exterior walls are on their own layer.

Alternatively you could trace the exterior walls with a line which is on a site only layer. This line though would have to be updated whenever the building outline changes.

I always use a fill around any buildings/areas I am modelling.
This way I can show them separately if I need to and can easily get the area and perimeter too.

You can also use a slab or mesh to represent grade and cut out a hole to match the building footprint. Then setup a layer combination that hides the building but leaves the slab behind that has a heavy contour line which will line the hole and use that for the site plan.

There is a bit of work to get it to work but it's doable.

I tend to use zones for this purpose; draw them on a separate layer which is on in site plan layer combination. Added advantage of dedicated markers that can be set to show different information at different scales and can be scheduled for gross floor area information.
