i am working on a new 8 story office tower and the current task is to draw up the site, property lines, streets and do the analysis on the site. has anyone had experience using ArchiCad to accomplish this or do you use another program - i.e. photoshop, etc. i would like to have it in ArchiCad and be able to reference it through trace as the schematics takes off. any advice or procedures would be appreciated.

Do a search. There are some posts about this, especially how to combine meshes with SEOs to speedily put roads etc on site is worthwhile to study.

I'd definitely use ArchiCAD and not some photo editing software. Even if you're at a very diagrammatic stage you'll find that AC can produce very eye pleasing graphics and has the ability to combine different types of media on layouts with relative ease.
