Sketch render is a rendering engine which can make your PC crawl.
In my opinion a 3d presentation improvement doesn't qualify as a reason to upgrade from 7 to 8. There are other applications to achieve the same and even better "3d" results. On the other hand improvements such as Solid element operations, Project Navigator and better Plotmaker functionality are serious reasons to upgrade.
To be more specific about sketch rendering, it can produce nice sketches, even on the first stages of a project. It's better to check it yourself at the nearest graphisoft reseller.
