Slabs and floor plan cut plane

How do you stop slab elements that are above the floor plan cut plane from appearing on plan views? For example we have window reveals and other elements that are very high up (way above the cut plane), but are still appearing on the plan view despite setting the cut plane and range. Any thoughts?

@Karoly Horvath, thank you very much for your detailed explanation of why 3D documents are so limited in our time. 

I believe you are much more qualified to make a specific wish on this matter becuase of what you have described above. I have never drawn a reflected ceiling plan because I mainly do low rise residential but I do draw timber framing plans for roofs, ceilings and walls.

Do not rush it because I know you are very busy but your insightful input will prove very valuable to GS and all of us who use AC. And any other users who know what they would like from a “horizontal staggered section tool” would also prove very helpful too.
