Hi all,
I have only just realised that SEO operations that impact the TOP face of a Roof are represented in the floor plan, just like they do for Morphs and Shells. Is there a way to disable this representation when the roof is shown overhead?
Given the dynamics of the Morph and Shell tools I am not surprised that their representaion is just a projection for simplicities sake. But for the Roof tool, who's geometry is relatively simple it is odd. My issue has come about on a recent project that has a thatch roof and a concrete flat roof.
The thatch roof is done as a multi-plane roof with CP beams for the thatch overhang. This creates the correct 3D representation, but creates a mess in the floor plan... The short sides of the roof make it even messier... Maybe that is why in a model done by someone else 15 years ago that included thatch roofs, the roofs were all drawn as 2D lines and fills...
The flat concrete roof has been modelled as a roof with offset SEO copies to form upturn beams and a ceiling recess for simplicities sake at an early stage given there was talk of possibly raking it, but now I have the top recess showing on the storey below...
