This is a quick survey to see what ArchiCAD users around the world set their screen resolutions to when using ArchiCAD. Please take a moment to respond.

To find the screen resolution of your PC: Right click on your desktop and select Properties. Then go to the Settings tab and read the number under Screen resolution.

To find the screen resolution of your Mac: Go to Apple Menu>System Preferences...>Displays and read the highlighted screen resolution.

If you use a resolution that is not listed, please feel free to specify it in a post. If you use multiple monitors, please feel free to add those too.

Thanks for your time!

Cheers,

Sounds like an ad for a testosterone patch or something.

MacBook Pro 17" (1680 x 1050) running a 30" Apple Cinema Display (2560 x 1600):

Until a few months ago I did all my work on the 17" PowerBook (one of the first in the UK). With the new 17" MacBook Pro (C2D) I opted for a little self indulgence and also purchased the 30" Apple display.

Amazing! What a difference: All of a sudden I'm reminded of my days in front of a drawing board where there is the space to realy 'look' at a drawing/presentation. It is also now very easy to sit a client or colleague next to me to review a project without trying to crowd around a smaller screen.

When I take the MacBook home, or to see a client, I am shocked that I happily worked on such a 'small' screen for so long...

Thanks for all the replies so far. It looks like there are some pretty big setups out there, which is good to know.

The smallest resolution heights for a main screen seem to be around 800-900 pixels. That's probably about borderline for ArchiCAD. I wonder if there is anyone out there still using anything lower than that?

Thanks again for your votes.

I am using a 30" Dell LCD 2560 x 1600 pixels, 32 bit, with the Nvidia Quadra FX 3450/4000 card, 256 Mb.

This combo really works great. I've have no video related issues in 6 months , it's fast, and with all the area I can finally have all my toolbars, pallettes, etc. open and still work in a good sized window. The screen is so big that it takes some getting used to, as I might have to move my head slightlty to get a good view at the side of the screen.

A new courier, he only looked about 15. I think it was a little late arriving from India too, which compounded the delay...

(Tried it on our old machines in the office, extremely slow in 3d / OpenGL. Would that be the graphics cards or drivers?)

I'm happy now tho
