US vs AUS license.

I am looking at purchasing an ArchiCAD license, as I am now work for myself, My understanding is that if I was to purchase a US license rather than an AUS license I would save about $2K (a fair amount of money when starting out)

Is there any issues with this???

I actually see little benefit with the support provide from Australian resellers as I have been using ArchiCAD extensively for years while working with others and I have found issues resolve far better by simply searching this forum, than any advice ever received from Graphisoft Australia.

Will they sell you a license if you are outside the US?
What about tech support?
I agree that this forum is great for getting help, but I do use our tech support also.

False economy I'm afraid..I get great support considering I have only one seat. They will talk you through any issues you have that this forum doesn't cover.

I agree with Ricosta, if you are starting your own business you do not want to skimp on having support for your investment.

I have always had excellent assistance from Graphisoft Australia; once even on a weekend when I lodged an issue, I had an email response in less than 30 minutes.
