I have received a .pla file (112mb) from another architect and when trying to open it I get an "Unknown document version" error message and have to quit archicad.
I am running Archicad 16.0.0 Local (codemeter) full English (international) library 3006 build 4010
If I inspect the .pla file properties in windows it says the file is
ArchiCAD Solo Project Archive (.pla)
Any ideas on what to do?
thanks so much
Christopher

You should be able to open a PLA created with any earlier version of AC prior to your current one up to a limit. If I took a guess that PLA was created with 17, an updated version of 16 (doubtful) or a an old AC07 (if this is the case you will need to look in the wiki for the steps to bring it forward).
The solution for 1 is having the architect save as AC16, the solution for 02 is for you to updated AC16 is a newer version is available which I think it is and for 03 is to look in the wiki.

Hi thanks for your reply. I have the latest most up to date AC16, so I guess that means its most likely the .pla was created in AC17 and he needs to save as AC16. I will ask him...
