Any ideas on how to change the fill behind the niche in plan view?

Thanks.

Maybe you could have posted an image, but if I understood you well, I think the fill you're talking about is the wall fill where you're inserting the niche isn't it? If so, I'd segment the wall in 3 parts: two for regular wall and 1 for the niche part and then change the wall fill.

My boggle was using a niche on a composite wall....
the fill behind the niche was different instead of allowing the composite to run right through:

but your method worked great patricia. Thanks!

At least the fill will run consistently.
Or, use a Patch.

Now by 'patch' do you mean a fill to overlay?
No, I mean the "Create Patch" command that is available when you use a marquee. You will probably need to check the Help menu to learn how to use this. It creates a small GDL object that overlays the plan.
