Weird shadow domes

Can anyone please tell me why whenever I construct a dome the shadow is like this? This is a dome made out of a wall with a complex profile, but the same weird shadow occurs in dome roofs as well as the dome library part.

Cheers in advance

you see that wierd shadow cos archicad is NOT able to give accurate view of rounded object cos archicad alys cut down number of polygons and thats why we dont have accurate sections and elevations of rounded object.

OFC this was wish and ofc it is older wish !

so basically is there no way to get a decent looking shadow on a dome? I have to draw it with raster?

Assuming you are talking about shadows in elevation, this is constrained by the use of vector graphics (and thus pen colors). If you want smooth bitmap shadows you can shoot a 3D elevation/rendering and overlay it with the vector drawing.

that would be one way to go. However applying a fill over the problematic area minimizes the work instead of overlaying an entire view.

More a question of the desired effect than the amount of work I would say. Overlaying two views is pretty quick, and then the updates are automatic, but it may not be what you want.
