What causes this menu to appear?

I work with shortcut keys, and almost never right-click my mouse, as I learned Acad on a MAC with a mouse that didn't have a right click.

However, when I'm working quickly, a floating menu often makes a sudden appearance with 4 options:
Drag Here
Drag a Copy Here
Fit in Window ^'
Cancel

I have to cancel this menu before I can proceed.

Anyone know what I'm doing that makes this menu pop-up?

holding ctrl button down and clicking is the same as a right -click.
that's what you're doing.

Hi Keith,

When you drag an object with guidelines off, a extra right click afterwards will bring up the menu.

The way to stop it is not to do the extra right click!

Hope that helps!

That'll be it! I use ctrl for most of my shortcuts, so probably hold it down a fraction too long.

Many thanks -

Keith.

A left click makes it disappear for me (don't have the cursor over the menu).
