Why not runt at XP Home / Vista home? And why Quicktime?

Hi!

What is it in ArchiCad that makes system requirements that not support home editions of XP / Vista?

And second, are Quicktime really a needed thing to have? It's a kind of nightmare software, maybe it not that hard to have if you only use your computer for ArchiCad and other cad related things. But I have my computer for both CAD and Music-production and QT gives me alot of trouble.
Why not have a choice to select if you want too install it or not, and if not, greymarked the function in AC that need QT.

What problems do you encounter with Quicktime?

It overrides some of my other software and some of these overrides I can't turn of without uninstalling Quicktime, I don't know why, could be bugs that don't have with QT to do.
And it always being installed in "msconfig -> autostart" and there I must turn it of after almost every new update.
And there I work before QT overrides our economic system so after everytime we had installed QT we had too reinstall the economic system, I think the problem there was on both the ES and QT.

Maybe? I try to install AC10 at my very tiny old laptop with 512mb and XP Home yesterday, it works, and far more better than I could dream of. Didn't try the teamwork part.

Maybe the sys-req. are recommend systemconfiguration?

Can you use the Quicktime Preferences (see attached image) to specify when Quicktime should be used? In my experience Quicktime is quite well-behaved. As you say, there may be a problem with a specific application you use, but I don't think Quicktime is to blame.

I think it is the latest one, I have unmarked all checkbox in QT but it will override in some software even though.
But maybe it isn't QT that is the problem.

And anyone that have experience to run ArchiCad at Home editions?

As for XP home AC works ok - no problems whatsoever teamwork included.

Regarding Vista - forget this c.r.a.p.

It's hard too find laptop computers today that don't have Vista preinstalled. And ofcause you don't get any drivers on cd that support the hardware so installing Win XP are asking for trouble.
