License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. Workspace not Trace & Referencing to SAME coord. as Plan

Hi,
I can not get a drawing located at a specific coordinate in Workspace window, once Trace & Referenced, to the SAME coordinate as Plan window. Is there a way to get it to automatically go to the same coordinate like Plan Trace & Referenced to Plan; short of moving the Referenced drawing?
Thanks,
Joseph

The active view and the Trace will automatically be aligned only if one directly originates from the other. E.g. a floor plan and a section; a floor plan and a worksheet based on the floorplan; a section and a detail based on the section. But, for example a worksheet based on a section will not align automatically with the floorplan.

In such cases (as well as in case of independent details/worksheets) the center point of the bounding box of the Trace reference is placed in the middle of the screen.

This behavior will be reconsidered in the future.

Hey Greg

Thanks for clearing that up. So it's not actually random, but of course positioning it in the middle of the screen is not very useful to anyone. 'Lame' may be a bit harsh, but I do hope that reference positioning is made consistent throughout and using the project origin as a reference point seems the most logical to me.

As I have mentioned more than a few times since trace referencing layouts has become available, if the position of a referenced layout defines the actual postion of the resulting drawing on that layout, then we could acurately position all the drawings in our template before the model was built, without any of the cumbersome workarounds needed today.

Respectfully,
Link.
