Hello,
Seems to be limited by default, see
http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/guides/gdl-guide-for-archicad-18/chapter-12-miscellaneous/fix-named...
Seems to be limited by default, see
ROOM_NAME Type: string Possible length: max. 31 characters Returns the name (e.g. 'Living Room') of the Zone. The default value set in the Zone Stamp Library Part is overridden by the value set in the Zone Settings Dialog.

Hello,
I am afraid the zone name text field does not
accept more characters than 31.
As a workround you could use an autotext -> write
the long zone name to the autotext table and use
<autotextname> format in the zone name text field.
Hope this helps.

I think, this topic we had some times ago.
If you use the User Interface for the input of the ROOM_NAME,
you are able to put in more than 31 characters,
which will be shown in 2D as well.
(ArchiCAD 16, maybe earlier)
