Did all that. I got a dialog that said "Archicad 12 cannot be installed on this platform." Poked around the DVD and found that the Archicad 12 (PPC Mac) folder just had a folder named Defaults inside. The Archicad 12 (Intel Mac) had the Defaults folder plus Archicad Installer, archive.jar, media.inf, setup.AC, setup_M.AC. Something's missing, seems to me. Another subtle hint to get a MacTel machine, I suppose...

Yep! I'm having the same problem too and there's only a file 'Text, info' in the ArchiCAD folder. I tried Karl's approach but no luck. The installer wizard says '....12 cannot be installed on this platform.'

I guess I'll have to wait until Monday and contact tech support unless someone can figure it out here.

Staying tuned....

How weird. I wonder if GS burned the DVDs incorrectly. In the interest of full disclosure, my PPC installation was from a disk image that I downloaded, not from the delivered DVD...but the disk image I used is supposed to be the same as what is on the DVD.

Please post here (or perhaps in a new thread "Installing AC 12 on PPC Mac") when tech support gives you a solution!

Cheers / sympathy,
Karl

It's amazing quiet here with reactions to AC12 (other than the beta testers, of course.) Is it that nobody has received and started using it?

Just got ours yesterday, install no problems, seamlessly lets you migrate your old WE from 11 but be careful as you might miss some new stuff. Even if you were using standard menu setup from 11, it migrates that over so some menu items missing. Should have been if you were using standard from 11 it uses standard from 12, easy enough to fix.

Dimension tool improvements really nice, long overdue.

Already made the curtain wall tool crash three times. Its kinda buggy. Has some interface issues, dialog box size randomly fits onscreen and then is insanely long and shoots off the right side of screen (and I use two wide screens!!!). The extra environment takes some getting used too, but all in all seems like it will be a nice addition.

That's all I have so far.

Got mine, installed this morning. Everything seems fine. The stairmaker tool has improved greatly, you could actually use it for the plan and not just for the model.
