bad windows, but can't identify the culprit

I have a simple small house with one exception. Some of the walls are split horizontally, a 2x6 stick framed wall on top of a thicker [10"] concrete lower wall. I have a few windows "hanging" down into the lower thicker wall, which has been "notched" via solid element subtraction.

When I open the 3D window or elevation I get a series of warnings which repeat several times, see attached, which if I click continue on each one as they come up it opens and functions properly. Further if I marque each window and open them in the 3D window they each open just fine, and then, the 3D window non marqueed usually opens up fine afterward.

I have run a duplicates check and even, perhaps foolishly, check library parts through the special menu. Nothing changes. It seems I definitely have a bad window, or lots but cannot locate which one.

Any ideas?

Jeff,
I suspect there is nothing wrong with any of the windows.
I have had many bogus error reports concerning library parts in AC 8.1.
I will bet that if you open the library part in the GDL editing environment
and "check script" in the 3D script and in the 2D script there will be
no errors reported.
I have noticed that these "errors" often fix themselves permanently if
one just hits "continue" until the 3D window completes processing.

I am not saying that the above statement is always true, but for
library parts that have been checked with parameters set identically
to those of an instance that reports errors in the project 3D window,
it is true, in my experience.
It is particularly true of errors like "cannot del transformation above top"
and "pen number must greater than zero and less than 256".
Thank you,

Hi Peter,

It fixes, but only for a while, and definitely not between sessions in the same plan file. It seems as though several windows are 'affected", or rather infected as I have to click proceed several times, I loose count, to continue. If I only had to do this once or even six times I'd just move on but.............! I have checked 2D, 3D scripts in all of the windows. [open library part, check script], and "script is OK". [ I seem to recall the "classic" windows being funky and advised not to use those, which I'm not so it's not that either.]

I think I am more confused than before. I am considering downloading the 8.1 library from the mothership website and reloading the whole thing.

update:..............did some searching and came up with this previous post.

Not the ideal solution but for now, for me, for this situation, I'm going with it!

Jeff,
I am surprised that these errors do not fix themselves especially since
the "check script" comes up OK.
I would try setting all of the parameters in the object to exactly
match those in the instance that is generating the error report
then see if you can get "check script" to report an error.
The way I do this is to take a screen shot of the settings dialogue
of the instance that has errors with as many parameters
showing as possible to get the parameter settings.
You could attach this screen shot so that we could see if any of us
are able to get the same errors.
Thanks,
Peter Devlin
