change number of segments in shell?

it seems that there is no way to change the number of segments in a shell, and since this is the go to tool for creating curved roofs it seems quite odd and limiting. is there another way to create a curved roof that would actually be useful in accurately representing roofs in section and elevation?

Adjust the number of facets you want by making adjustments in the Options / Magic Wand Settings dialog.
