complex profiles

I just noticed the "Water moving" material (thought it was kinda cool) and my first thought was "Swimming pool" (I know there are pools in the library but bear with me ) So just for fun I started messing around with Complex profiles. I created a fill with that material on the inside. I saved the profile and went to plan. I used the circle geometry method to create a pool shell. What I found is that the shell is two separate arcs. The separation between the two arcs shows in 3d and renderings. Again I'm just trying new things so I'll probably never use it in this way but I was wondering if there was a way to make these two arcs one piece.

I'd love to post a screen shot but my computer has been acting up lately and I can't get the print screen function to work. It's time for an overhaul!! I did manage to figure out that if I uncheck transparency in the rendering settings the separation of the two walls doesn't show in the render. Unfortunately I don't have a licsence here at home so I'm just messing around in demo mode. This shouldn't affect the behavior of the walls though. I also found that a regular wall (not a complex profile) when drawn in a circle is two separate wall arcs. Sorry for the lack of visuals.

Hello Doug,
I have found that AC can save any window as .jpg so you
can "save as" the 3D view as .jpg and upload it here.
Yes, any circular wall with an included angle of 360 degrees
is drawn as two walls. A Graphisoft tech support person
once told me that for some internal reason walls must have
four sides but a continuous wall would only have two sides.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the info. The Save and Save As functions are disabled in demo mode. That's why I couldn't post a rendered image. It's kind of a pain but at least I can get some practice here at home. Happy New Year!

For some reason I had the impression that AC 11,s demo mode
worked differently than in previous versions but I guess not.

Just for the info...

AC11 does work differently. For the first 30 days it is fully functional without a key. You can save, print, use teamwork, etc. After 30 days save, copy, and teamwork are all disabled. For those testing out the program prior to purchase, this is a big improvement.

Are you referring to installing in trial mode? I put a new hard drive in today and reinstalled AC as a full commercial licence. Again I don't have a dongle at home so I'm running in demo mode. Even with a clean system and no registry entries from a trial version from some time ago I don't have the save ....etc. functions even for 30 days? Maybe this only works if you install in trial mode??
