copying and dragging building all levels globally, at once.

Supposedly the marquee tool allows one to select a drawn building and then one should be able to select all in marquee and copy the building. BUT, not all the floors move if I dragcopy them. I have to highlight each story, select all within the story and then copy move and hope I paste them all in the right place. Unfortunately with this method I get double object occasionaly if I am not thorough enough with my levels. I have to move all floors individually. How do I facilitate a global move? There must be a better way!?

Remember to turn on all layers and unlock all layers before moving.

If you have your (thick line) marquee defined you do not have to select elements as well. Just drag.

If you have the marquee then select items it is only picking up those on the current storey.

-not quite-doesn't work, with thick marquee it will NOT select all stories.

-like I said-doesn't work.

Is it a glitch or am I doing something wrong elsewhere?

If trace reference is on - refresh the screen for the trace reference
to reflect the move.

The marquee is very very reliable. Definitely something else.

It sounds like you are trying to use the copy/paste commands to make the copies.

What you need to do is to use the multi-story (thick) marquee to surround the entire project (with all layers visible and unlocked) then then just use the drag-a-copy command.
