creating gothic brick arches

is there any way to create gothic brick arches? i've created a gothic arch window and it doesnt give me the option to add an arch or head?

also looked at the object "gothic opening" and it doesnt allow a surround or head.

i've done a search but to no avail.

perhaps the standard objects 'brick course' or 'brick semi-circular arch could be modified, but i am totally rubbish at scripting!

i'm using V11 and V12.

You can use a profiled beam. Just make the profile in the shape of the elevation of the arch and insert it perpendicular to the wall. If the intersection priorities are set right it will make its own hole - no SEO required.

If the face of the arch is flat this is simple. If you need more detail it can get rather tricky. If it is really complex you are probably better off with Objective (the add-on by Ralph Wessel) or Archiforma (by Cigraph).

Here is the basic idea. For proper brick coursing in the arch you would need either a custom material texture (and fill) or some fancy subdividing of the profile. You could even get recessed mortar joints by combining two beams. Just keep in mind that to physically model the brick could slow things down quite a bit if you have a lot of these windows. Texture mapping is probably best.
