defining a custom pen: doesn't seem to carry to layout

I am trying to define a custom pen with a heavy weight (thick).

Here are the steps I am going through:
1.) View>On Screen View Options>True Line Weight
2.) Document>Pen Sets>Pens and Colors (Model Views): Define new pen index 150, pen weight 1.00 mm, custom color (or standard color).
3.) Document>Pen Sets>Pens and Colors (Layout Views): Pen index 150 is the same in the layout views.
4.) Now I draw a line in the heavy pen (index 150) in the model view. It shows on the model view as heavy and in the correct color.
5.) When I switch to the layout view, the pen is in white and not the heavy weight (as if it has gone to index 150 prior to the color/weight being assigned).
6.) Rebuilds do not affect the layout. All pens drawn on the model show up correctly on the layout Except ones I have defined newly.
7.) IF I want to draw a line directly on the layout itself (not on the model view) -- I can use the newly defined pen and it shows up correctly.

Note what I am trying to do. Define a new pen of heavy weight and draw a line on the model view in that defined pen, having it show up on the layout which will eventually be publlished and printed as a heavy line.

The characteristics of any new pen I define (index higher than 120) do not show up on the layout.

What am I doing wrong? Any clues greatly appreciated!

This might be a 'qlitch' in ArchiCad. I figured out what was happening. If the pen was defined after the initial layout was created, the layout would not 'recogize' the new pen. Updating the layout would not work. New lines drawn would be carried over to the layout but in the wrong weight. The solution was to delete the specific view in question on the layout -- and then re copy that view back to the layout. After that it works fine.

IE. Sequence: create layout with view. create new pen. Draw on view. Pen is not recongized on layout. Update layout. Pen still doesn't carry over. Delete view part of layout which is having the proble. Recopy over view to layout. New pen is now recognized correctly!

Are you sure they are the same pen sets?

Yes, they were the same pen sets. I went through the scenario a number of times, and each time it acts the same. If the layout is generated prior to the pen, the update doesn't seem to occur on the layout. If the layout is generated after the pen, then it works as expected.

Sounds like a bug.
