the same goes with the walls, the roof, and so on...
and while I'm at it, how can I make the wall tool snap to a 90 degree angle in both x and y (so I can get straight lines/ walls

Hi
You can draw slabs(or any other 3D element) in the 2D or 3D window. Layer control in conjunction with the Renovation filter allows you to control where (and how) elements will show and where they will be hidden.
2D elements can be drawn anywhere except the 3D window.
holding down the SHIFT key will let you snap to 30 degree increments, including the X and Y axis.
