joining walls possible?

Can Archicad join 2 walls so that they act as one? I have 2 walls that clean up to look like 1 but I want to "merge them into each other. Is it possible?
Thanks,
Michele

You can group them, but that I think is as close as you'll get without getting into GDL. Then again, something tells me you allready knew that, so...

The only way to join them is to transfer the doors & windows from one wall to the other. Move the less complicated/shorter wall to the side or above the other wall. Stretch the other wall to match the length of the combined walls. Transfer the windows & doors one by one (using parameter transfer -opt/alt click on element to pick up all the parameters), then insert into wall, dragging as necessary to align edges to the element in the other wall. If you keep the openings aligned, this can be done quickly. Trim to roof if needed. Done. If all looks correct, just delete the old wall.

Its a little bit CheatiCad but you can also magic wand the shape of the 2 walls with the polygon walls tool. Grouping will give the most control if you need to adjust anything later but I've noticed large numbers of groups tend to slow the program down a bit.

Interestingly, you can Add two Walls with Solid Element Operations (SEO), but I don't know if this is of any use to you. You will then have to put the operator element on a hidden layer to see the result correctly.
