plot maker is the most awful program.... do i have to use it? is there something else... it's so frastrating and slow i've spent half my time setup drawings in plot maker, some times more time then to do the archicad drawing.. the commands do work the same etc... i think it would be quicker and easyier to use autcad in replacement of plot maker....

What do other people use.

Hi Keith,
still a bit confused, though.

That happens to me several times a day. I'm glad you could join the club
The save option 'Include Linked Files' seems to embed the links - so that they have to be updated manually (like binding an XREF). I wouldn't want to have to do that, at least at the drawing development stage.

I actually looked for the Auto / Manual Update settings in PM 9 and could not find them!?! In 8.1 when in Drawing Usage mode one could select if the drawings/hotlinks should be updated manually or automatically.
I can't seem to find this setting in PM 9 any more?!?
You usually want to update all your views manually any way. If a deadline is finished I assume you would like to save a copy of the specific deadline for archiving (don't forget the "Include linked ..." this time). So in most cases I think the "manual update option was the one being used the most.
You can always update them all over lunch or when opening up the PM for the day ...

However, although the 'help' file tells me that, if I don't check this option, the links will always be in updated state, I still have to update them manually every time I change the model, even though I haven't checked the 'Include Linked Files' box. Maybe there's something wrong with our system?
I tried publishing differently scaled views from the same model again - and it worked! There's something very odd about the publisher dialogue box in which the scale box reverts to whichever scale was chosen last - not the scale at which the view will plot.

I am not sure what you mean by this?
If your different scales (AC Views then) of the same floor plan is put on the very same paper layout in PM. Then that should not be a problem.

If you've decided to change the scale of one imported AC view, but in PM with the help of the Drawing Settings dialogue box ("Attribute Update Rules / Attributes" settings) - then it still should behave according to your manual scale settings.
Am I missing something? Have you changed any settings under "Options / Pref's / Drawing Attributes"?
