The video was made with with an ArchiCAD version earlier than 15, the Barrel Vault Geometry Method was removed from the Roof Tool in ArchiCAD 15 (it is replaced by the Shell Tool) so this video will not help. In the ArchiCAD 15 Help files see: Virtual Building > Construction Elements > Shells > Extruded Shells > Simple Extruded Vault: Parallel to the Floor Plan.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

I have a more interesting question about intersecting a single plane roof with a multi-plane poly roof in AC15. I have been using AC for 17 years making roofs sing and command clicking to make roofs intersect with out problem. Now I want to simply make the ridge of a new shed roof intersect with just one plane of the multi-plane roof that is on the existing conditions.... but command clicking does not do anything... How can I make this work.

With multi-plane roof you can no longer "trim" them as you did before.
You must select both roof and right click to "Connect" them.
You will have to manually stretch the edge (ridge side) of the shed roof so that it passes into the mustiplane roof.
But beware this will remove part of the main multi-plane roof that is under the shed roof.

If this is not a desirable result then convert the multi-plane roof back to single planes.
Ensure that all connections are deleted and then you can trim as you did in previous versions.

The new multi-plane roof is great for simple single level roofs but when you start adding in other planes at different heights and want to controll how they join then it is best to convert back to single planes.

Dwayne:

You should select the shed roof, select Connect > Trim Elements to Roof/Shell from the context menu, click on the gable roof, then click on the part of the shed roof you want to retain (the part above the gable roof). This will trim the shed roof to the gable roof. To get the correct 2D appearance, go to Project Preferences > Construction Elements > Floor Plan of Single-Plane Roofs and their Skylights and choose True 3D projection. In my experience I have not needed to change Multi-Plane roofs to Single-Plane Roofs, but the working methods are different with the new Roof tool.
