roof - mixed type

how do i set a different roof type [hip, gable] for a roof. i want the highlighted hip change to gable. i selected it and try using the palette but it doesn't allow me to remove the hip.

The roof elements are all independently editable. Simply delete the Hip part of the roof, select the two sides that remain as the gable, and stretch their node at the ridge to where it should be to create the gable end.
